Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Ideal candidates for a brow lift are those in good health who are interested in eliminating the appearance of forehead wrinkles, droopiness, or sagging skin in their eye area. Candidates should also be non-smokers and have realistic goals about their appearance after a brow lift.

Many patients in their 20s and 30s undergo brow lift procedures to prevent the appearance of early signs of aging. However, as signs of aging become more noticeable with age, patients aged 40 to 50 may achieve more noticeable results after their brow lift procedure.

Dr. Craig and all of the staff at Renaissance are amazing! From the start of my experience until now I have been nothing but pleased with everything. I would highly recommend their practice to anyone in the market for a cosmetic procedure.

What Is Brow Lift Recovery Like?

For your surgery, you will be put under general anesthesia. Your brow lift will begin with an incision made just below the hairline. From there, the underlying muscles and tissues are tightened, and any excess fat is removed. The skin is then pulled over for a smooth contour, with any extra being trimmed away. Any applied bandages will be removed in 1-3 days. Stitches are typically removed in about one week. Your results will become gradually apparent as bruising and swelling subside over the course of a few weeks. Normal activities may often be resumed in 1-2 weeks, and more strenuous activities in 3-6 weeks. Incision lines should continue to fade for 12-18 months.

Are There Any Risks with a Brow Lift?

Just like any other cosmetic procedure, a brow lift can come with several surgical risks. These risks can include:

  • Bleeding
  • Anesthesia risks
  • Eye irritation
  • Facial asymmetry
  • Loss of hair around the incisions
  • Elevated hairline
  • Poor wound healing
  • Risk of blood clots
  • Skin loss
  • Facial nerve injury
  • Infection
  • Changes in skin sensation
  • Scarring

These risks will be discussed with each patient during their initial consultation with your surgeon. Under the care of the dedicated surgeons at Renaissance Plastic Surgery, patients can take comfort in the fact that each one prioritizes patient comfort and safety, allowing for easily manageable methods for side effects and minimizing risks.

Brow Lift FAQ

Will a brow lift change my facial expressions?

Can a brow lift help with hooded eyes?

How long will my brow lift last?

Will a brow lift change my facial expressions?

A brow lift is designed to enhance your natural look without altering your facial expressions. The goal is a subtle, refreshed appearance rather than a surprised look.

Can a brow lift help with hooded eyes?

A brow lift can improve the appearance of hooded eyes by lifting the sagging skin around the eyebrows, creating a more open and awake look.

How long will my brow lift last?

Because it is a permanent cosmetic procedure, the results from a brow lift will last a lifetime. However, it’s important to keep in mind that a brow lift cannot prevent a patient from continuing to age. Over time, a patient may experience droopiness and sagging as the skin changes with age. This is completely natural and can be revised with another brow lift procedure if needed.
