At Renaissance Plastic Surgery, we are proud to stand alongside the Karen Weidinger Foundation in their mission to support women in our community who are fighting breast cancer. On Saturday, May 10th, the day before Mother’s Day, we were honored to sponsor the 20th Annual Karen for a Kause 5K, an incredible event filled with heart, hope, and community spirit.

This cherished St. Charles tradition brings together families, friends, survivors, and supporters to raise awareness for breast cancer and provide tangible support to those facing it. The event featured something for everyone: a timed 5K, a 1-mile fun walk/run, and the energetic Children’s Mad Dash for kids 10 and under. It was a morning full of energy, smiles, and meaningful moments.
The Karen Weidinger Foundation (KWF), established in 2004, was created in memory of Karen Weidinger, who lost her battle with breast cancer at just 38 years old. Since then, the foundation, entirely by volunteers, has been a beacon of hope, focusing on early detection, education, and supporting families in the St. Charles area impacted by breast cancer.
As a practice deeply committed to women’s health, self-confidence, and holistic care, we are honored to support this cause year after year. Our team believes in the importance of community involvement and standing together to make a difference, especially for those navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.
