FAQ: Answering Your Questions on Lip Fillers

RPS, Lips - Image There is no denying it—lips are in! The current trend toward a plump pout has many of Renaissance Plastic Surgery’s patients wondering about lip fillers. As to be expected, there are a number of questions that men and women have along with their hopes for fuller lips.

Am I a candidate for lip fillers?

Whereas some have always struggled with naturally thin lips, others may notice that, as they age, their lips are losing their robust appearance.  Either way, lip fillers are an opportune treatment for those looking to add or restore fullness and shape to their lips.

Besides a fuller pout, what can lip fillers achieve?

When performed correctly, lip fillers should enhance more than your lips alone and should complement the rest of your facial features. Often, fillers improve uneven, asymmetric, or poorly proportioned lips. Many of our patients also enjoy that a fuller lip lessens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that have formed around their mouth.

Will my lips look natural?

Restylane® Silk has quickly become a favorite for lip enhancement at our St. Louis practice. Its hyaluronic acid formulation lends to a natural look and feel. Found naturally in the skin, hyaluronic acid plumps the lip by bringing water to the surface of the skin, creating a soft, pillow-like fullness within the lips. More than the filler alone, a keen eye and expert hand and are necessary to achieve safe and natural looking results. A naturally full lip requires an understanding of facial balance, as well as a meticulous attention to detail and technique.

Will I be able to express myself?

Our lips are easily one of the most expressive parts of our face—as such, it is understandable that you will want them to move freely. Restylane Silk’s unique hyaluronic acid makeup allows for smooth and uninterrupted movement that can actually accentuate your facial expressions.
